The Silver Braid Survivors of Sexual Exploitation Network - Delano/Northern Kern County, CA Area




Welcome to the site for the Silver Braid Survivors of Exploitation Network - Delano, California Chapter. We are getting started setting up a support group of survivors of any kind of sexual exploitation. Including, but not limited to child sexual abuse, incest, rape or sexual assault, marital abuse, stripping, prostitution, human trafficking, etc. Please keep visiting the site for more information. Our meetings have recently been changed from Wednesdays to Thursdays, and we are in the process of trying to reserve the Laurel Oak room at DRMC instead of the Silver Oak room.

We are also looking for a survivor fluent in Spanish who is willing to assist with us her efforts in translating Silver Braid materials, leading Spanish language meetings, generally helping us reach out to the Spanish speaking community.

This site will serve as a clearinghouse for info on the Network both here at home and outside of our little town, and also a place where you can find general healing information, and localized healing information. We realize that there it is difficult to find where to get help in Delano, and we want to provide information on that!

10/25/2007 MEETING WAS CANCELLED AT LAST MINUTE - Hi everyone, we are at this point making every effort to get the group going again. A meeting was planned for October 25th, at the last moment unfortunately, so everyone who had hoped to attend the next meeting was not able to come and it was cancelled. I apologize sincerely for the difficulties we've encountered in getting this group off the ground, and I assure you that in the morning (it's 11 PM Sunday the 28th right now) I will call to make sure we can schedule a meeting to be held within two weeks, and I will make myself try harder to let everyone know what the planned date is! ANNE BISSELL AT GIRLFEST - Anne Bissell, founder of the Silver Braid, will be speaking at GirlFest in the Bay Area of California, between July 19 and July 22nd. GirlFest is an event displaying art by women and girls, and educating everyone about violence against women and girls. In November there will be a GirlFest in Hawaii. Please check out the event info. It sounds like a lot of fun and educational!
